Fit for Life

Are you fit for your life? Do you have what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle?

Funk and Wagnalls Standard College Dictionary defines fit as:
1. Possessing the proper qualifications; competent. 2. In a state of preparation; ready. or 3. A sudden overmastering emotion or feeling.

Are you prepared to live a healthy life?
or
Are you instead throwing a fit in life, about your life?

Well, of course you possess the proper qualifications, because we all come “wired” with exactly what we need to express a happy and healthy life. But are you ready to move beyond the emotional fit to the competent fit?

It helps to have a plan of action in place to keep fit on a daily basis in those emotional or trying times. For ease and efficiency, I break it down into four categories:

Physically, Emotionally, Mentally and Spiritually

Take out four pieces of paper and write a heading at the top of each sheet corresponding with the four areas above.

Write a minimum of ten ways that you could stay fit for each category. Remember, these can be simple ideas to begin integrating into your daily life. Choose four of your favorite ways out of the ten from each category and highlight them.

Now it’s time to put them into action in your life to create the fit lifestyle that you want. For each week, you will choose one of the four ways from each category to implement. For example:

Week one of June:
Physical: Practice Tai Chi for one hour
Emotional: Use essential oils on a daily basis
Mental: Change negative self talk into affirmations
Spiritual: Meditate for ten minutes each day

As you begin creating “fit” habits for healthy living you may just be surprised at how life simply flows and how things you have been desiring seem to easily fall into place.
